SKUAST conducts model training on improved animal husbandry practices

R S PURA: Eight days model training course on “Improved Animal Husbandry Practices as a way for Doubling Farmers Income” commenced on Monday at, Division of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu R S Pura. The training programme is sponsored by Directorate of Extension (DoE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers welfare, Govt. of India. The training programme will focus on improving the knowledge and skills of field level veterinary extension functionaries regarding the improved management, feeding, breeding and healthcare practices .
Speaking at the inaugural function, Dr. K.S.Risam Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, said that the role of the extension functionaries is immense towards the development of the society and in doubling the farmer’s income through improved livestock practices. He stressed upon that the programme should be made practical and interactive through demonstrations.
Dr. Rajinder Rain, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, R.S.Pura formally welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of training.
