Assertions from several quarters “unfounded”: MS CD Hospital

Srinagar, Mar 30: Medical Superintendent of Chest Disease (CD) Hospital Dalgate Dr Mohammad Saleem Tak on Monday refuted allegations leveled by families of COVID-19 suspects and termed it “unfounded”. He said the hospital will give all required attention to positive cases only and will shift all 80 suspects/negatives to NIT and Zakura hospital.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Tak said from couple of days some families have started leveling allegations against the hospital authorities which are absolutely “unfounded” and “far from realities”.
“After the death of two Covid-19 patients who were tested positive, their families along with those who have been kept in quarantine have leveled allegations against hospital authorities”, he said.
However he maintained, “There may have some lack of facilities but that doesn’t mean the words being spread on social media are true”.
He also said due to increasing rush, it was decided that only positive cases to be treated at CD hospital however others including negative and suspected will be shifted to NIT Hazratbal and Zakura hospital respectively.
“It was a decision of Government of J&K to shift 80 suspected and negative patients to Zakura hospital and NIT respectively to decongest the medical facility so that full attention and care to be given to positive cases only who are 15 in number”, he said.
Earlier in the morning Government’s spokesperson Rohit Kansal tweeted, “No new cases in Kashmir Division; In Jammu Division 3 new positive cases. Total for J&K 41”.
In an another tweet he said, “Four more cases detected positive in Kashmir. 2 each from Shopian and Srinagar. All contacts of previous positive cases. Contact tracing working on ground”. (KNS)
