Srinagar, March 06: The weatherman Friday said there would be significant improvement in weather from Friday onward, saying it would remain dry few days.
As per the officials at Meteorological department, Kashmir there would be significant improvement in weather from Saturday afternoon.
Director Meteorological department, Kashmir, Sonam Lotus told JKNS that plains in Kashmir received moderate rainfall while upper reaches received light snowfall till Friday.
“We expect significant improvement in weather from Saturday onward and thereafter there is no forecast of any rainfall or snowfall in Kashmir region till March 10,” Lotus said.
However traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was disrupted on Friday due to landslides between Ramban and Banihal following heavy rains which lashed the region from Thursday.
“The vehicular movement was suspended on the highway in view of the landslides and the shooting stones,” he said adding that if weather would be clear, one-way traffic would be allowed from Jammu to Srinagar.
Meanwhile, traffic on the Mughal Road connecting the Pir Panjal region remained suspended for the third consecutive week following the season’s snowfall on November 7.(JKNS)
