J&K’s 10+2 contractual lecturers appeal LG to fulfil their demands

Srinagar: The contractual lecturers teaching in higher secondary schools of Jammu and Kashmir have appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and higher officials of the education department to fulfil their long pending demand of regularisation.

Appealing under the banner All Jammu and Kashmir 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Forum, Jeevan Kumar, General Secretary said in a statement that prior to the new Lieutenant Governor taking the charge, they had also met former LG Girish Chandra Murmu “who gave us full assurance that our demands will be fulfilled.”

Kumar also appealed Advisor K K Sharma and Secretary School Education, Asgar Samoon to consider their long-pending demands.

“I request Honorable Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha ji to give us some of his precious time so that we are able to put across our genuine demands. The orders given by the officials of the Education Department are not correct and they are creating a hurdle in fulfilling our demands. We request you to make a permanent policy for the youth (10 + 2) contractual lecturers of Jammu and Kashmir because we have given 10 to 15 years to the Education Department and have served well. We have helped students shape up their future but our own has been plunged into darkness, that is why you should be regularized under the Government Order No. 1301, 1584, Civil Service Special Probation Act 2010, SRO 520 or new policy so that these people can also take care of their family well,” he said.
